Pop and Go: Medical Appointment Companionship
By Ewa Frydel, Owner
One of the most common needs for the elderly is assistance to and from medical appointments. That’s why we added it to our new program: Pop and Go.
There are two main reasons why it’s important for your senior mom or dad to have companionship and caregiver assistance around their visits to the doctor.
What are those reasons?
We said it already, companionship.
It saves time.
Let’s discuss these two factors more deeply…
Companionship
Think back to when you were a child and had to visit the scary dentist who was, no doubt, always out to get you. If it weren’t for that lollipop at the end of the visit, we’d probably throw a tantrum every time we needed to go!
As children, we need to visit the doctor’s offices often. As an adult, we tend to go for normal check-ups and when we’re feeling ill, just not as often.
As seniors, however, it’s like being a kid again. Medical visits, medication management, heading to the pharmacy often, and booking appointments with specialists happen all too often.
It’s tiresome.
Yet, necessary.
Having a caregiver with your senior mom or dad before, during, and after a medical appointment is like having that sweet lollipop the entire time.
We all need comfort care and moral support when we see the white coats.
Pop and Go offers that comfort.
Time Management
Speaking of frequent visits, do you, as a family caregiver, have time for this? Are you a part of the sandwich generation and have work plus children to care for? Tired of seeing your mom or dad transported by a stranger or Uber?
That’s why we’re here.
You tell us the time and date for the medical appointment, and our caregiver will be there to accompany your senior loved one to, during, and from their medical appointment.
Our Pop and Go program offers that friendly, professional, and supportive neighborhood companion to be there for your special elder.
You save time.
Your aging parent gets support.
Life flows smoothly.
And you have a built-in record keeper. Your caregiver will gather the necessary information about the appointment and any medical advice, as well as medication details. If your senior is the type to forget, you can count on a caregiver to help.
If your elderly one in need has a doctor’s appointment coming up and you’re not able to make it or are struggling with your own schedule to do so, contact us.
